If the 20th century will forever be marked as the century of globalization and digital technology, the 21st will undoubtedly be one of the data. By digitizing gradually all their activities from the 60s, companies have contributed to the birth of a movement background – the Big Data – revolutionizing their practices information management and more generally their development strategies .

Symbolized by the theory of 3V (increased speed, volume and variety of data), to which may be added a fourth “V” (the value that the company will be able to draw from these massive data volumes ), this revolution logical consequence of the combination of movement scanning and grabbing the Internet challenges the old business models: companies are forced to adapt their strategies to achieve – finally – a their dearest wishes: put the customer at the center of their activities.

This revolution for every company, regardless of size, sector of activity and heart craft, since each company has data, the potential is exploited in various ways depending on the field – but rarely optimal. Facebook already approaching the billion subscribers. Nearly 500 million smartphones were sold in 2011 and the growth of this market is approaching the record rate of 30% per year – creating more geolocation data and behavior. Open Data and every day brings new services to citizens.

This fundamental shift creates new needs for both consumers (applications) and companies (platforms data management). Democratize access to technologies for analyzing Big Data is one of the key issues that drive companies like mine. And cloud computing will undoubtedly play a major role in this transformation. Big Data Already have an impact on job creation and wages. An industry and analytical knowledge is being created before our eyes. This is only the beginning.
