To my fellow CIO's the real question here is the question behind the question.  The Old school CIO's, and I know a number of them, are Analytical and Reserved, but this does not answer the real question here.  The Business and IT environments today are far from this black and white.  The CIO in today’s market needs to answer the question behind the question this way.  Yes the CIO need’s to be Analytical and some what Reserved, but in today’s fast moving environments the CIO need to bring to the table and out going attitude and personality and be able to engage Executives from other areas of the business, and not only to engage but bring viable solution to the Business.  So today’s CIO needs a lot of the Out Going and Engaging personality but also have the ability to maintain that Analytical and Reserved composure when need be.  Well that's my take on the question and I could be wrong but I don't think so with nearly 30 years experience in Business and IT.
