You're correct, Pearl. I actually worked with a team to develop HP's Cloud Functional Reference architecture, taking all of this into account. Described it in details on the CloudSource blog. Even wrote an abstract for this forum... Just realized I have never posted it. Thanks for reminding me.
As I wrote in a blog post a while ago, there is this chase for the mythical convergence device. You know the time you will no longer have to carry your phone, your notebook and your tablet... each with their own charger and set of cables. Google glasses may play a role towards that convergence device, but it won't be it, at least not in its current form.
More and more articles point to the uptake of cloud in enterprises. And, if I believe the interactions I have with CIOs, it is definitely the case. The big question is whether to go private or public cloud. That, in my mind, is the wrong question. I’ve already mentioned several times that “one size does not fit all” when we talk about the cloud.
