Hi, Joel, I would add, self interest at cerntain level such as sharing or promoting knowlege & skills are positive, however, each indivial should not think self bigger than organization, or standout by kicking others off. The issues you pinpint here also prvokes further thought about talent management & change mangement, as these management discipline are long term journey, directly impact organization's future and our siciety's culture.

I sort of agree. I think for Apple it may be the right thing....to keep innovating without too much of an eye to the past. But for PC makers, merging the PC and tablet may also be the right thing for just the market you describe.

First, yesterday the day started with keynotes from Dave Donatelli, George Kadifa and Mike Nefkins. Dave discussed new products in the server, storage and network area, focusing mainly on the software defined ones, describing how HP addresses software defined data centers. George and his team walked us through the HAVEn announcement and showed through three new products how HAVEn can be used to gain better understanding of our IT environments.

In meinen letzten Blog-Beiträgen bin ich auf den Unterschied zwischen einer IT-orientierten und einer nutzerorientierten Cloud eingegangen. Eine IT-orientierte Cloud stellt eine Infrastruktur bereit, um die Installation neuer Instanzen von Anwendungen zu erleichtern. Sie automatisiert die Bereitstellung der entsprechenden Anzahl von virtuellen und / oder physischen Maschinen mit den richtigen Konfigurationen, der gesicherten Vernetzung und entsprechenden Speicherkapazitäten. Die Installation der Zielanwendung kann ebenfalls automatisiert werden.

Ich habe gerade einen Beitrag gelesen, der die Einführung eines „Marketing Technology Office“ propagiert. Er schlägt vor, dass für Channel- und dem Kunden zugewandte Technologien das so genannte Marketing Technology Office (MTO) zuständig sein sollte. Ganz offen – das legt aus meiner Sicht zwei Schlüsse nahe:

IT = Business und Business = IT

Last week I was talking to public sector clients who are in the process of moving to cloud. We discussed how best to do that, knowing they want to stay vendor independent, and the subject of the service broker was discussed in quite some details. However, technology is not the most difficult aspect of that transition. It’s actually the evolution of the organization. We spend quite some time discussing that aspect of things.
