Today's applications weren't designed to be deployed on a myriad of devices. They're legacy. Many need to be replaced. Whether tablets replace PCs or not, the takeaway is that multiple device use requires applicatoins to be rewritten, modernized, etc. Application modernization is the type of activity that is often put off. Perhaps the tablet trend (as well as BYOD) well help deal with this issue.
